When I play the flute, my left index finger starts hurting.
I've heard that its because I'm not practicing enough and I've heard that its
because I'm to tense. Does anyone have any advice as how to relax while I'm
playing? Or why its hurting? Thanx!

Lana, you nay have solved this problem by now, but I thought I would answer anyway. Your problem is more from your hand position than from the amount of time you have played flute. Of course, the BEST solution is to get with a flute teacher who can observe you play so they can adjust your hand position.
