Same techniques for different flutes ?

Post by Djipy »

I plan to have flute courses in next september.
I just wonder if the playing techniques are the same for normal flute, alto or bass flute, for piccolo ?
In other words, learning normal flute, may I be able to play other flutes later or will I have to take other lessons ?

Their all basically the same, so get good at each it takes individual practice and lessons will help but it's possible to do on your own

They're all basically the same, but are extensions of your regular flute's range. To play piccolo well, first have good tone and intonation in your flute's third octave. Likewise, to play alto and bass well, first have an attractive low range on your C flute. They're fun!! :D
