Flute-four years
Recorder- one year (actually it was two years, but it was elementary school music class, so we did the same thing both years; therefore I really only have one year of experience I guess)
Clarinet- a few notes I learned in like 5-10 minutes
Violin- honestly, I don't really play, but I played my friend's once before and it was fun
When I told my band director this year I wanted to play clarinet, he said he didn't really want to switch me from flute, but I told him I just wanted to learn a new instrument. So whenever I see someone with a clarinet, I ask them if they can give me a mini-lesson, and eventually I might be good enough to actually get lessons from my director. I also told him once I wanted to play saxophone, and he thought it was a good idea because they have similar fingerings. (Well, then he thought it was a good idea because I was a little sixth grader and our saxophones sucked

) I probably would've learned how, but the school doesn't have any altos (what I want to play), and my parents definitely aren't paying for one.
