i'm a freshman in highschool and this is my fourth year of playing the flute. although i haven't played for very long, people (such as my band director, private teacher, etc.) seem to think i have really taken off and have some potential. i am involved in my school's band and pep band (1st chair in both), and a local youth orchestra (4th chair behind 3 seniors, although i got a higher score than them in auditions) and flute choir (1st flute). I just got into a Massachusetts district band as 2nd flute, 2nd chair.
at the moment, i'm looking for a handmade, professional flute, but I'm not exactly sure what kind I want. (it can't be tooo expensive either) if you could reccomend a flute to try out and tell me why you like it... that would be very helpful!
another question.. does anybody think that it is worth it to go into music as a career? at the moment, i am considering it.. but i'm not sure!
thanks everyone!!
