key of flute

Post by gokuson123 »

I want to play the Bamboo Flute but I don''t know what key to get
it in so it will sound like an Irish Flute. Apart from the key, should it be in
Alto. Mid-Range, or Soprano? Thanx:)

When playing any 6 finger hole flute (bamboo or Irish) the key of the
flute is named for the lowest note played (like penny whistles). So 123456
closed on a D flute would be like the silver C flute. Most Irish flutes are low
D flutes.
