In referance to my earlier post and etgohomeok's comment:

I'm not saying that my hearing is bad in one ear. It is just that my ears are hyper sensitive. I hear conversations my parents are having at the other end of the house. I am one of the lucky few musicians who have "perfect" or "absolute" pitch. Because my hearing is so exact, I can easily tell that one ear hears better than the other. By no means did I mean to convey that I have extensive hearing loss in my right ear.

When it comes to determining/deciphering sound, I typically rely on my left ear more than I do my right. Overall, my hearing is actually quite excellent. I have no trouble controlling dynamics or tone color in the upper register. High frequencies are High Frequencies. They DO damage your ear over an extended period of time. I have been playing piccolo for quite a while. My right ear doesn't hear as well as my left ear. But, the difference is slight and minimal.
