I guess I will update my info [seeing as how it has changed so much, and who knows.... someone might actually want to know].

I currently play in a woodwind quintet, a Symphonic Band [piccolo], and Orchestra [Principal Flute], a flute choir.

I currently play a Miyazawa with 14k Riser, C# trill, Split E mech, and D#roller.

My dream instrument is a 14k Miyazawa. I havent yet played a gold flute I didnt like, and out of all of the various companies I have tried, Miyazawa is my favorite... but I also hear that gold Brannens are nice too...

I have discovered a new artist that I absolutely LOVE. Christina Jenning's playing is to die for. Luckily, she teaches at the University of Colorado, so I might take an audition there for Grad School.

I like the soundtrack music for films. Those pieces are always fun. My current favorite Symphonic Band piece is Russian Christmas Music. My favorite Symphony is Mahler #1.

Hey you all!

1) I used to play saxophone and flute in the marching band and in the concert band when I was in public school and college. Now I play alone or with friends -- the flute dogs, not professionally though -- just for relaxation. Professionally, I am a vet tech. I don't want to make my music into WORK because it is such a grest stress reliever. 8) I just hope that none of the dogs ever bites me in the hand so that I can't play the flute!

2) I have two Gemeinhardt flutes, a 2SP and a 3HSB. I also have a BandNow! piccolo. I also have a Feadog (Celtic for "Irish tin whistle").

3) I love Gemeinhardt flutes.. for sentimental reasons. I would like to get a purple laquer one with silver keys, but I don't really think that the major flute makers will ever make them. Maybe some day.

4) Seamus Tansey

5) I mostly play jazz and some classical. I like so many pieces that it is hard to say what my favorite piece is.
"Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom." -- Charlie Parker

1. What group do you play for?
I play in Wind Ensemble, a Flute Choir, a Flute Quintet, a Woodwind Quintet, a Woodwind Trio, Marching band for the fall, and I sometimes sub for people in the pep band.

2. What kind of flute do you play?
I play mostly on a Yamaha 600 series flute, and a Yamaha YPC 61 piccolo. I also have a Haynes flute from 1936 that I love to play, but am to afraid to take anywhere other than my house. (I know it sounds stupid, I have insurance and everything but it really means a lot to me)

3. What is your dream flute?
I really like Haynes and Brannen Bros., but I have yet to try Powell and some other flutes, so I dont have a definite dream flute.

4. What players do you enjoy listening to?
I like listening to any flute player that really enjoys what they are doing, but I love listening to modern innovators of flute performance, like Ian Anderson, Robert Dick, and Greg Patillo to name a few.

5. What is your favorite piece to play?
My favorite piece to play is undoubtedly the Chaminade Concertino, and I also really enjoy the Hindemith Sonata
