Creating a flute e-newsletter

Post by musicone »

Hello Flutists!!!!

I would like say that I'm creating a flute performance website, along with a free e-newsletter. This will be an informative e-newsletter and I would like to know what topics would you like to read about?

I would value your suggestions and requests.

I look forward to seeing your finished product! To be honest, it's hard to find enough content to fill a periodical about flute. The Flute Rag (a free online flute newsletter,) which was just started last year has already shut down. They still have the old issues online at http://www.blismusicpublishers.ca/index_newsletter.htm

Flute Talk and The Flutist's Quarterly thrive mostly off of interviews with flutists, listings of upcoming events, and reviews (with maybe one performance guide or technical article per issue.) I mention this not dissuade you, but to encourage you not to over-extend yourself. Do you have a staff or are you going to do it all yourself?

Anyhow, good luck with your project, and let us know how it goes!

I have no experience with writing newsletters or anything, but I like the idea of introducing different music books, products, etc. Also, maybe could write about tips for different skills and stuff. For example, how to help get a better tone, help with dynamics, etc.
