New member aboard!
Hi everyone. I just recently came across this place, and it's so nice to see so many flutists in one place! I've been playing for almost 20 years (with minor breaks here and there). Are there any flutists here that are out of school but still playing? I hope to get to know all of you!
I'm new to the list too. I played a long time ago, but recently started again...
I played alto sax through HS, and played flute just for fun, but now, over 15 years later, I'm playing again in my church choir (flute, not sax ) as I was missing music. It's taking a lot of practice to get my embouchere back, but slowly, it's coming back. It's been a lot of fun.
I'm actually contemplating a new (new to me, anyway - probably gently used) instrument, as I'm still using my student model from HS, but wanted to justify that I'd be playing more before I spent the money. Still trying to figure out what to get/try out -music stores with lots of flutes to try aren't exactly plentiful in my neck of the woods...

I played in JHS & HS, and in a rock band after HS, but I've been out of it for about 20 years, I quit my job to go back to school recently, and while I'm there, figured "what the heck" and joined the wind ensemble.
I know what you mean! They stuck me in as "Co-principal" (I don't know why ) and expect me to carry sustained passages up in the stratosphere (B,C,C#)!! I'll be practicing at home, and, after a while, find myself blowing broad puffs of air over the head, with nothing but fuzz coming out of the instrument; I know it's time to stop practicing then! It's taking a lot of practice to get my embouchere back, but slowly, it's coming back.
