Can I put a 3m tarnish shield paper in contact with the flute ?

Post by gpavone1@comcast.net »

Hi ! I am a newbie and just got a Jupiter 597 s flute. The hard case has no room for anything else other than the flute and the cleaning rod.
I'd like to add inside the case one of those 3 M strips of paper that help prevent the flute to get tarnished. The strip will be inevitably in direct contact with the flute. As far as you know, would this be ok, or could it damage the plating ?

Thanks !

I keep the anti tarnish strips in the bottom of my case, under the flute. Trim it so the paper lays flat in the bottom. It will touch the flute in some places but that does not harm the flute.
