Flute to Oboe

Post by fluteplayer123 »

Is changing to oboe hard from flute or should I learn the clarinet first then oboe? Also will I be able to just buy an oboe reed to try to produce a sound? I have heard that playing the oboe will effect my flute playing a lot, is it true? I know the oboe is a very expensive instrument and also hard to master it. Thanks! :D

(I can play from the low B flat to high high C)

Well personally I haven't tried it but myteacher says that the way your lips are used are way different and that oboe is way stiffer. That might make it hard because flute is very relaxed.
