Hi. You could
play Syrinx by Debussy. It's at a fairly high level. It's one of those pieces
where u can vary it to show off your own ability. It's about average pace. I
got recommended that Ibert's 'Piece' is a good audition piece. Piece is the
name of the song. Do you play with an accompaniment or without. Once I know that
I can help you more :)

The pieces
that I mentioned aren't played with an accompaniment. Some other pieces you
could try are: Danse de la Chevre by Honegger Larry Sitsky's sonata for solo
flute (the first movement would be good for an audition) J.S. Bach A minor solo
sonata / Partita C.P.E. Bach a minor solo sonata Debussy's Syrinx I'm
currently learing Syrinx for an audition and because its an impressionist style
piece, u can make your own impression (hence the style's name) so u can make it
unique and show your ability :)

Syrinx is a
nice showie piece. My daughter has had it on the back burner for awhile only
having an occasional chance to work on it because of other pieces. But she plays
it sounds great and could be very impressive. It is a high enough level piece to
prove you can play. It is also easy to find on CD recorded by good players. I
think that can be a great help in preparing a piece for performance or
competition.
