Hello! I am new here and probably writing this in the wrong section... apologies if that is the case! So this is what's going on: I came upon an older flute at an estate sale and have attempted to play it, but not very successfully! I know nothing of flutes. This one is stamped M.J . KALASHEN NY 149 and while I believe it to be brass (not sterling as I'd hoped) I'm wondering if this piece has a nostalgic or historic factor, or maybe an obscure importance specific for flute lovers? I have searched the internet and have not found much info on this flute or even the brand. I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet. The case looks to be antique. I thought I'd ask you lovely folks here for your thoughts, if you'd be so kind as to share them? I am very grateful for all input and wish you all well. Thank you for your time, I know it's precious.
