I had an intermediate Yamaha flute in high school. They are not bad flutes but there are better flutes out there for around the same price. Not sure if this helps.
If you so a search, there are quite a few threads about this flute. It is a good flute. However for a little more money, you would get waya WAY better flute going up to a yfl500 series Yamaha.
