music careers

me and a friend have decided that we are going to open a
music store when we get out of college. I''m in high school and have jumped
back and forth a lot about my profession.... but when I started band it all
became fairly clear about what i wanted to do. Music is what I love to do... but
any way... i was wondering if any one knew what major that would be... buisness
or music? minor in one? or is there something out there just for what i''m
trying to do? any help or advice would be great!

That's wonderful that you're wanting to open a music
store! I'd be the first one in. [;)] But no, I'm sorry, I can't help you out.
I'm in high school myself and looking at majoring in music, or maybe
photography. Where ever the Lord leads. Good luck though![:bigsmile:]

WOW that is so neat that you have a goal like that. I am
guessing that you would probably want a Business major and a Music minor. I
would go and talk to the counselor at school that helps with college choices etc
and see what they have to say about it. Kim

I agree that you should probably major in Business.
Although it totally depends on what school you go to and what they have to
offer. If you were a music major, you would get a solid education in performance
or music ed, but you probably wouldn't study how to run a business. Remember,
you can always have music in your life, regardless of your profession. [:)]
