Hey flute people, Now that can confidently post a question
without feeling stupid I am, posting that is, a comment, Okayanyway Started
playong on christma eve and downloaded Cannon in D "yes I know this is the flute
version of stairway to heaven" older crowed will understand. When I listen to
recordings it always sounds like it starts a step higher than the sheet music.
Is this just me? Question 2: I originally wanted to get a bass recorder because
of the beautiful deep tones but there a bit hard to find , My wife bought me a
flute instead which has been great but all the solo stuff is in the upper
registers, any recomendations on basier flute solos etc Thanks all Bill "and
please dont make fun of my flute"

Willi~ The first song that comes to mind as a song that has
more in the lower register is Syrinx by Debussy. It does get into the upper
register but it has more in the lower than most flute solos. Kim

Willi, Look for music written for Alto Recorder. It stays
mainly in the lower range of the flute. I love the lower registers on the flute
as well.
