I know that about 90% of this board is people over the
age of 10 which would be about the age level of this fiction book (I read it in
about less than an hour, though I''m a speedy reader). And though it is not
the highest reading level, it''s a good fiction story about a flutist whereas
there aren''t that many (that I know of) out there. It''s called "Going for
Great" and is by Carolee Brockmann. Here''s the back: "Life has suddenly
gotten complicated for Jenna Dowling. She''s entered a college-level flute
competition despite a severe case of stage fright. But her rehearsal partner, a
talented flute player and a social misfit with a troubled family life, gives
Jenna more than just musical inspiration. Through her, Jenna learns the strength
of true friendship, and the courage to face her fears." -Yeah it sounds kinda
corny but it''s a pretty good book. . . So if you''re even in a bookstore or
library and have nothing to do or read. . .don''t forget a litte AG Fiction
