... cause wrinkles?
I was just thinking about this the other day. But... even if it does of course I will keep playing it! :)

Taking to account that the more relaxed the better for flute playing, I would say no it doesn't.

But there are those expression wrinkles, caused by the way our face contracts and relaxes muscles while we are trying to make a point (I think you do this when playing music, right? :-), like when we rise our eyebrows, for example...
But those would appear anyway, even if we never had played the flute, I guess...

I do have VERY VERY VERY slight creasing/wrinkles where my 'smile' lines are. I'm only 22. These are also where my musculature 'creases' my face slightly when I form my embouchure. These nearly invisible wrinkles are only visible after I've been playing for a few hours.

So the answer? In my case, yes.

Thanks for the replies! :)

Yes, I noticed some tiny lines too, exactly where I form the embouchure... Very tiny, but they are there and I don't have any other lines or wrinkles... I do feel relaxed when I play, but of course it is like speaking or smiling. Even without forcing, you have to move your mouth somehow... :?

urgh. everything causes wrinkles. at least embouchure wrinkles kind of look like smile wrinkles. smile wrinkles are nice.
