Flute Brands

Post by ckee »

I am learning to play the flute. I have two flutes. One is a Bundy flute and the other one is an Artley flute. I would like to know if both of these are good quality flutes or if one is any better than the other. I don't play in any band. I just enjoy playing at home for my own enjoyment. Neither of my flutes are new - both previously owned by someone else.
I will appreciate any comments about both the Bundy and Artley flutes.
Thank you.

These are old student brands, both ok for a beginner.

Yup, old flutes.

I play a 30 year old Artley and before that (for only two years or so) I played a Bundy.

I vote Artley.

Definitely Artley.

Keep the Bundy in case the Artley breaks or if you want to play fetch with your dog.

For beginners, I do not see much difference in the two as long as both are in top shape. They are obviously student flutes, but either should be fine.

My first flute, back in 1982, was an old, used Bundy. Kind of stood out among all the other kids' shiny new flutes. :D

My second flute, 20 years ago, was a brand-new Emerson.

Now I'm on my third one, no idea what brand it is, got it off eBay.
