Armstrong Flute Question (Model)

Post by ShinyPrism »

Hi all,

I'm thinking about purchasing a flute from a friend and am a bit confused.

The flute is an Armstrong with 80S4286 and says "Sterling body and head only". Can anyone tell me what model this is or where on the flute the model number is located?

I've looked based on the serial number, but the one printed on the flute doesn't seem to correspond with the lists I'm seeing online.

Thanks,
Ems

The first two digits are the model, so you have a model 80, which as you noted, has a sterling silver head and body. The rest is the serial number. Serial numbers starting with letters indicates it was made between 1965 and 1970.
