What do they look for in an audition? Is it tone, technique,
or articulation?

It may depend on what the audition is for. I think in most
auditions the judges will be looking for a number of things such as Tone,
Rhythm, Expression, Articulation,Technique,Intonation and sight reading skills.
They may also be looking at whether the song is too easy or too difficult for
you. Kim

Basically, everything. Although it can vary depending on what
you are auditioning for. Judges will look for good tone, good technique, sight
reading, scales, or anything else they decide to do. Basically they will be
looking for the "best" player they can at that particular moment. So, it's not
just one thing, but your overall ability.
