Please, please, please can anybody advise on the best way
to clean the surface of a nickel flute? Many thanks. Whistler

I would suggest using a nickel cleaning cloth or other
cleaning products that work well for nickel flutes. Also, just to polish it, a
slightly dampened cloth will suffice, just as long as the pads don't make
contact with the cloth.

Is it an uplated nickel flute? Not really made anymore.
Or is it a nickle plated flute, again not made much. Or is it silver plated
nickle? More common. Allergy to nickle is so common flute makers all but
eliminated any flute where nickle comes in contact with your skin. It was an
attempt to avoid the tarnish problems of silver that failed. It should not need
more than a wipe with a clean cotton cloth to wipe off finger prints and shine
up, as nickle doesn't tarnish. if it really is nickle.
