Hi everyone! I''m learning to play "Brian
Boru''s March", transcribed by James Galway. It all sounds nice when I play it
but sometimes the song requires to play the tiny notes that are written above
the other notes. I understand that these are like very quick passages and help
to make the song sound nicer ( I don''t know their name in English in spanish=
apoyaturas). When it''s a quarter note it''s easy but I have no idea how to
do it when there are two eight notes. I hope some helps me!!! Thanks!!!

Is it just a single little note before the
actual note? If so, that's just a trill. It depends on how it's written, how
fast the piece goes, and the type of music being played to know how it should be
played. I don't know much about Irish music, so I'm not sure how a trill would
be played. Or... does it have something like a sideways "S" above the note? That
I think is called an appoggiatura.. which means you would start on the note, go
up one scale step, go back to the note, go down one scale step, and end up back
on the note. That all takes place in the time you would normally take to play
the written note. I hope I'm understanding what you were asking correctly..

Help with Irish Song!!!
Thanks Emily. My teacher explained to me that
it's a trill. And it's just a very fast passage. She explained that for every
trill there is a certain key that you have to use real fast. It sounds really
cool when it is used. But Thanks!!!!
