HI all,
Decided to take the plunge as an adult, to learn flute. I am mostly a fiddle player, and have lessons in that, so can't really afford to have lessons in both so was wondering if there are any recommendations for good flute methods, either books, DVD's or online.

The Trevor Wye books are fantastic. When I picked the flute back up after a 30 year hiatus, that was and still is my go-to. There are also some great online sources, like Jen Cluff as well.
How long have you been playing fiddle? I primarily play Celtic music, so I often play with fiddlers. What part of the world are you in?

Been playing the fiddle about 5 years, and the mandolin about 10, mostly play folky stuff, but sadly arthritis is taking its toll, especially on my left hand, and it's getting uncomfortable to play, hence the interest in flute (and by extension, other folk woodwind).
I'm in Devon, SW England.

The Trevor Wye books 1-6 are very good. However, I would suggest seeing a teacher, at least during the formative stages, even if it's once a month, as it'll help you progress quicker, and prevent you developing bad habits.
