I've watched on various YouTube videos about throat noise. It's a terrible habit I remember having many times as a child while whistling, and sometimes when I played clarinet. I need to relax my throat while playing and make sure that only the flute makes the sound, not me. The flute is very unforgiving of throat sounds (guh uh uh uh) while I could sometimes get away with it on the clarinet. These days while practising, that is first and foremost on my agenda for progress.

Practice saying "hah" to open the throat and then think it while playing so that you keep the same throat shape without engaging the vocal folds. Think like you are whispering "hah"
"Never give a flute player a screwdriver."
