Hi everyone! I have been taking private lessons for about 3 years now. However, I quit because I didn't have enough time to practice as much as I felt I should have with a private teacher. I planned to put the flute on hold, but then school and summer rolled around, and I went about 2-3 months without touching my instrument. When I picked it back up, I found that I had forgotten where to put my lip plate on my lips. I set about experimenting, but whenever I would find a good position, it would be gone the next day. Most of my practice sessions have consisted of me sliding my flute up and down my lips. This has been going on for several months now. I've looked at videos and articles, but still cant find an embouchure that works for me. Do you guys have any tips? I've heard that the place where your lower lip meets your chin should touch the edge of the embouchure hole facing you.
