I always used silver polish on mine - mostly because I
thought it WAS silver. I've had it for 35 years, and never had a problem. Oh- I
used Wenol or Simochrome (sp?). A good german jewelers polish.

My flute is silver and I use a cleaning cloth on that
which works wonders, however it is my daughters flute which is nickel and the
cloth has no effect whatsoever on hers. It is becoming very pitted and tarnished
and I don't know what to do!

Since the polishes I mentioned have very very fine
abrasives, it >might< help. It's certainly worth a try. You said the metal is
getting pitted? I wonder if you could check with a jeweler and see if they have
any suggestions.

Just wondering - How's it going? Have you been able to
make your daughter's flute look any better?
