C1 is the is the lowest C. It is below the staff. It is the lowest note that a student flute can play.

If you do a search using the search feature at the top of the page it will bring up a thread or 2 on vibrato. In a nutshell it is the wavering or quivering sound that you hear when a person sings or plays a note.
Many people learn it using a hahaha sound when playing a note.
Trevor Wye also has a book on vibrato that is very good in my opinion and could be very helpful to someone trying to learn to play using vibrato.
