Fitting a Gold head on a Silver body

Post by oscarevelasco »

What kind of acoustic compromise would you think I be making if I,

1. had a Gold head (approximately .012/.013) fitted to a silver body (Our .018 Brögger flute barrel is sized to receive .016 headjoints)

or

2. had the flute barrel fitted to properly accept the gold head.
Let me know when you are around the DC area. I was looking for your booth but J.L. was missing from the mid-Atlantic fair.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

You don't want to do #1... too extreme.

#2 is not practical, You can't "fit" a barrell, you have to replace it with one that fits that headjoint.

Better off to use the new Metal tapes that are out there to the tenon to size it correctly.
