Trilling From E nat. to F Sharp

Post by AmazingGrace33 »

Hi! I'm playing a Bach Sonata and I came across a trill I've never seen, E natural to F sharp. I've looked in my books but nothing has shown up. Thanks for your help!

Trill the F key (pointer finger on the right hand).

Yep, first finger on the right hand. If it's starting on the F#, use normal F# fingering to start and then the first finger on your left hand after that from E (the pitch is slightly affected with this fingering, however it is unnoticeable during the actual trill - if done properly, so you have to start with proper fingerings).
