Well, it wasn''t pretty and I''m not sure what
was louder - the notes or my lips buzzing and spitting but I finally hit the
high B and C on my piccolo! Thanks to all who encouraged me to keep trying and
it would come. I have a question - when playing A flat in the upper register is
it proper to use one finger or two on the right hand the get both keys. Do most
people use alternate fingerings on any music that''s played fast. Since my old
experiences were with the trumpet (only 3 vales to worry about), it blows my
mind what gymnastics the fingers have to perfect in that upper register when
playing fast passages. Thanks, Gerry G

Thanks, It all seems to come in time. I've learned
to be more patient and experiment a little with my embouchure. Practising in
front of a mirror really helped me see what worked well and what didn't. Good
Luck to you. Gerry G

where i have to get past high G, but it was still worth learning.

I got to C4 briefly the other day- it was pretty
awful, the dogs and cat all left the room. But the 3D,E,F, and G are getting a
little better. I think trying for higher notes improves those behind them on the
scale.
