flutes

I am in eighth grade and i have a gemeinhardt flute. When i started playing in fifth i had a selmer flute and my gemeinhardt flute is a 3sb with an offset g and i don't play with the plugs. I got this flute when i was in sixth grade and i was wondering if i should get a new one for high school? I like the flute now but i was looking at other ones and i have asked my band teacher and she said that i should probably wait until i start nineth grade and start looking around. Does anyone have any suggestions on if i should get another one or if i should wait? And does anyone have any suggestions on professional flutes? thanks
