Beatboxing on the flute-How?

Post by JoeTheflutist »

i really really really wanna know how to do a beatboxing beat and play the flute at the same time, like greg patilo does!(that guy is really awsome!)
if you havent heard of him you should really check him out:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=crfrKqFp0Zg heres one of his videos.

so does anybody have any tips on how to even get started on this?
ANY tips or ideas would do!
thank you! i look forward to show off infront of people using that special technique! lol...

i should however tell you that i have no expirience in doing anything other than playing the flute, no singing, no jazz playing, im just yer simple classical player....i hope that wont cause any problems with this new technique :?
thanks again!

I tried it myself once and failed. Basically, from what I've read, you have to learn to beatbox properly first. There is a certain technique that involves flowing air in several ways at the same time, making several sounds at a time.

Hi,

If you learn to beatbox without a flute--as original beatboxers do, I think that is the best way to learn. Then, after some practice and mastery, pick up the flute and just give it a whirl.

Here is a youtube video lesson on beatboxing to get you started: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1qdyF2NDfw

Have fun! :-)
