What is a Yamaha 371 Intermediate level flute pitched in?

Post by Fish88 »

I recently bought a Yamaha YFL-371 with a gold lip plate. I just wanna know what the flute is pitched in. I'm looking for a less nub looking case and i need to know what the flute is pitched in. I would think most new flutes are A-442, but i dunno. Anyone?

Look underneath the mechanism. Normally a maker will engrave the pitch calibration number (440/442) under the mechanism somewhere on the ribs.

My first guess right now would be that it would be pitched at 442. Most flutes are at 442 because American orchestras generally play at 440-442, and other international orchestras generally play at 442-445. So, 442 is a nice medium.
