screw loose on flute

Not all flutes have adjustment screws so how can
they all have a screw loose that is not to be tightened? Student Yamaha's do as
I recall have them.

all flutes have a screw that will come loose i own
a yamaha 674, 574, a haynes and a student model yamaha. ----bryan

Maybe you can carry one of those little tiny
screwdrivers in your flute case (for emergencies). [:)] You just never know when
you might need it!

My current flute has tabs rather than adjustment
screws, which I love! No fiddling with adjustment screws! Over time my footjoint
steel unscrews very slighty but this does not effect the mechanics of the
instrument and adjustment screws are designed to do. I think there has been some
confusion in this thread about which screw is being addressed. I get the
impression it's an adjustment screw but the flute also has screws on the
crown/cork and on the rods/steels. -Bradford

I use an eyeglass screwdriver but they also sell
instrument ones at the music store

my flute has a loose screw... and it was affecting
my performances .. so one day, i decided to place some blue tack temporarily on
the screw to stop in from moving.. and it works! but change the blue tack often
tho...[:bigsmile:]
