Hi Porschia,
I've played on an Altus 1007 for the last 11 years. Fantastic flutes, great tone and scale, really hard-wearing... my flute has withstood a LOT of intense use over the past 11 years!
I've played on a Cooper headjoint for about the last 8 years. I remember my original Altus headjoint had a fantastically open sound, really big low register, but I couldn't find as much "edge" to the tone as I sometimes needed.
Above all I would recommend that you *try* them! See what's best for you. Go along to any Flute Fairs happening in your area - there are usually trade stall there where you can try different flutes, etc... contact your local Flute Society for details...
Happy shopping!
