Double Tonguing- I'm doing it too fast and I can't slow down

I'm auditioning for a wind ensemble band next week, and one of the songs I am playing requires use of the double tongue for the sixteenth note passages. The tempo is not too fast and the fingerings are fine, but I am finding that my double tongue is a little rusty and no matter what, I cannot slow it down. I can certainly tongue fast, you see, but it is TOO FAST for my fingering and by too fast I mean TOO FAST! I'm becoming increasingly frustrated. I cannot single tongue fast enough to perform the passages but I cannot double tongue slow enough... does this make sense? Any help for this issue would be really appreciated!

My advice would be for you to practise doing it extremely slowly
(1/4 beat =50 or even slower) while thinking of the proper tonguing syllables while playing them.

or you can learn to single tongue them. if you single tongue fast, then the piece will be easier to control (tempo-wise)
