Faure's Fantaisie

Post by deina-kun »

Is is okay if the tongued 16th note passages are double tongued?

I always wondered if anyone could tongue the piece regularly rather than double tongue. I doubt I'd be able to get my single tonguing up to that tempo. :P

Is there any background info/history/context to this piece?

As long as you make a conscious decision to triple tongue it [ it is in 6/8 isnt it?] [tkt tkt tkt or tkt ktk tkt ktk] and it sounds clean, then it should be okay if you can't single tongue it.

My fault, I meant the 4/4 part after the Andantino where it's 144bpm.

if the quarter note is set to 144bpm then that should be fine. Most people cant physically single tongue sixteenth notes cleanly over quarter note = 125bpm anyway.

Just make sure that it is a conscious decision, and that it is really clean and clear sounding.
