we would class a fife as a wooden flute with no keys wot i am looking for is a 5 or 6 key wooden flute tuned to Bb. In Northern Ireland and main land Britain ther is people making such flutes which i know of. Looking at the members list on this forum and the different parts of the world they live in it would be interesting to know if they have seen a 5 or 6 key Bb flute different from wot is avalible to me in there part of the world. As the band i conduct are looking to purchase such a flute and would like to keep our options open

There are many flute makers that make simple system B flat flutes. Some good ones are Michael Grinter and Patrick Olwell. Casey Burns also makes lower- pitched flutes, and his instruments are more affordable. Info for any of these makers should come up if you type their names into a search engine.
