Flute makers

Post by dionisp »

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows what happened historically that lead to traditional Europe's flutemakers fall and the corresponding rise of American and Japanese designers and firms.

I looked at the good site regarding flute history but I didn't found sufficient info on that.

My understanding is that the "crucial" period is between 20's and 40's.
Any ideas?

Gemeinhardt has an entire history of the flute on their website. It's pretty interesting. Check it out when you have a chance.
