We tend not to lead people toward a specific brand of instrument on here. It's just not wise considering that everyone has different needs when looking for a flute. We all play differently. What's right for you, chances are, won't be right for someone else. If Gemeinhardt is your brand of choice than that's great, but I woudn't say that it was an obvious choice....just a little food for thought.

Absolutely. While we appreciate enthusiasm and help, as a message board we try to stay unbiased when we give advice. So far, I have seen that you are quite vocal about your Gemeinhardt preference. That preference is perfectly fine. We all have our personal tastes, and Gemeinhardt makes a sturdy product that serves thousands of flutists very well. But, in the process of finding a good flute, it is best to try all options. So, we try to recommend as many brands as possible rather than one specific company in order to give the individual the widest possible selection to choose from. Let's tone things down a bit. Okay?

Oh, and welcome to the board. :D
