bad re-pad?

Post by aparimana »

hello folks, i''ve just had my flute repadded i knew it needed
repadding cos i was having to squeeze quite hard to get a clear tone below about
E or D its much better now i have it back, but i still have to squeeze a bit to
get a really clear D i know this is a bit subjective, but should i have to
squeeze AT ALL? surely i should just be able to lightly hold the keys down and
get just as clear a note as if i squeeze? many thanks for your thoughts! ap

That's odd... no, you shouldn't have to squeeze at
all...[:0]

take the flute to a technician and have him re-adjust the
keys. you shouldnt have to squeeze at all. your keys are probably out of
alignment, or bent

I agree with angel. Take it back and ask why? They should
make it right. Could be your pads weren't bad to start with, just the key
alignment or maybe a combination of the two problems. Either way the repairman
should have seen this when he did the re-pad and either fixed it or notified
you. Talk to him
