Flute ensemble

Hello everybody. I am a Spanish student of flute, and I've been requested to do a "research" about the history and development of flute ensemble or flute orchesta (I am not sure about how it is said in English). Our teacher wasnt very specific about the topic of the work, but he wanted us to look for as much informaions as we were able to find about the origin and the historic development of the flute ensemble, and he emphasises the current music for flute ensemble. I would appreciate everything you could do for helping me. Thank you, and forgive my bad English.
