Broken unwanted flutes or keys

Post by FlautistaGal »

Hi I'm new in this flute community and didn't just want to jump right into my post. So Hi all! :D

I am looking for a broken flute or flute keys. Any brand, any color, open or closed hole, doesn't matter.

I wouldn't have thought I would be having such a hard time trying to find a broken flute or keys!

Anyone know of somewhere where I can buy some?

Thank you!!

Some flute keys are available from Votaw but they are new and probably a bit pricey for your purpose (whatever that is - jewelry?):

Have you tried a local music repair shop? Many keep a bone pile of unrepairable instruments to use as a source for parts. You might find something that way.

I often see instruments that are broken or need repair on eBay. I've bought a few that way to get parts for repairs. I have occasionally seen assortments of keys on eBay.

Check out yard sales, estate sales, or Craigslist.

If you can't find what you want from one of those sources, let me know. I have a bone pile with some junk flutes for parts, etc. that might meet your needs.
