Making a flute
Just as stated in the topic I'm making a modern "C" flute. I'm making it from brass. For now though I'm creating a 3D CAD model of a name brand flute via reverse engineering. However the flute I'm using has drawn tone holes but the one I'm going to make I would like to have soldered on tone holes like the pro models. My problem is that I don't have a pro model flute to look at. I need to know if the top of the tone holes on a pro model flute are rounded, flat or if they are beveled at the top. It seems the last time I looked a Yamaha pro model flute the tone holes were beveled at the top and flat. Does anyone have pro model flute who could answer my questions?

beveled and then rounded..
There are a number of ways to do it. Most soldered tone holes are thinner than their rolled edge drawn tonehole counter parts. Whatever you decide upon, make sure the rim is flat and then chamfered (or rounded) where the pad makes contact.
