Sorry to let my Americanism show but as small as England is
the drive shouldn't be too far to anyplace. I did happent to be on a website
for another reason and find out he is a big instrument dealer in Essex. Amazed
to look at his pricing on flutes. His prices in pounds are less than 20% below
dollar pricing even before any discount. Considering the 1.8 conversion your
point about saving in the US is well made. Good thing we kicked your butts in
that war. lol Nice site though. http://www.bill-lewington.com/index.htm

I'm not actually in the UK as such, I'm in Gibraltar a
tiny 3sq mile British Colony of the Southern Tip of Spain. So any purchases I
make in Spain (hence the 2 hour road trip) or via mail order. I'd be really
suprised to find anything cheaper in the UK than the US. war ? weren't you on
our side ?? LOL !! Ernie

What are the British still doing with colonies? Didn't they
learn their lesson? Now I understand how tough it must be for you to find a
local store to buy instruments. I thought guitars were cheap in Spain?

depends on which war we're talking about. The Americans won and gained their
independence in 1776, but the Brits/Canadians whooped the collective American
butt in the War of 1812. The White House hasn't always been white you
know...after we burned it, it needed a good paint job and has been white ever
since. Ancient history though. The important thing is that we're all on the
same side now. I don't think the Brits or Canadians would want to go head to
head with the Americans now!! Why are we even talking about this on a flute
forum anyway? [:p]

I dunno ! pdiddy made the comment and I wasn't sure what he
was going on about !! It's funny you guys became a nation in 1776. Gibraltar
has been British since 1704 and still its a disputed territory ! Anyway I've
made my mind up to get a decent flute when I visit the US in Oct. Gotta practice
now ! Ernie
