Post by nicki_flute »

Can you get electric flutes and if so is there a web page about them or are there any midis or mp3s of them playing? Thanks!

I believe yamaha at one time had a wind controller than was midi based and connected to a regular synth.

could by similiar to this one

I supppose you mean this short of thing rather than a miked up regular flute ?

Ernie (knows jack sh*t about flutes but a lot about midi !)

Yes, I do mean that sort of thing rather than a miked up flute, because I am sure I saw an electric one once and you can get electric violins and cellos and things

thats right.

this basically works via MIDI which is the same system the keyboard synthesiers use.

As the wind controller is MIDI it can activate any sound from a sound module or keyboard, i.e. cellos, piano ..etc...

You can also use it to record directly to a computer sequencer.

here are more details on the yamaha website.

it actually has a flute fingering mode !

cool !
