Interesting Armstrong

Post by bigbandaxes »

I just finished up a re-pad on an interesting old Armstrong flute that I cannot find any info on . It's a model 102, but it is closed hole, in-line, silver plate. And the wall thickness is very thin. I've been repairing musical instruments for 35 years and have never come across one like this before. It plays like a bomb!!! Was this a special model in limited production? Does anybody know the story on this model?

Thanks Joe, I found that one on the Conn-Smellmer site too, but it's not the same. It has an offset double G. The one I worked on was an inline double G and had a super thin walled body and head. So thin, in fact, that the necessary dent work was a little scary.
