Primo Sankyo Artist Flute bought in 1992-Value???

Post by daynavarga »

Hello-

I used to compete and be very involved with my flute. However, I have a Primo Sankyo Artist series solid silver B foot flute that I am looking to sell and trying to find out the value. It has an NSR-1 solid silver head joint and both the body and B foot joint are 925 silver. It is open whole and in great condition. I am having all the pads changed and the cork replaced and fully serviced. When I wrote to Sankyo Flutes they said the Artist became the CF 401, however I do believe that the head joint was upgraded from what originally came with that model.

I live in Nashville, TN now. Does anyone know of where I could take the flute to get it appraised and also if there would be anyone interested in buying this flute?

Thanks!

Appraised value will likely be higher than what you can actually sell it for. I did a quick search on eBay, and the newer 401's (the model that replaced the Artist) go for more money than their predecessors. I would guess you may be able to sell it in good condition for somewhere around $2500 or less, provided it doesn't need repairs and is in good adjustment. This is just my opinion, as someone who has owned and sold a Silver Sonic (the model below yours) recently. Good luck!
