Hi, what bass flute would you all recommend for around $2000 (definitely under 3000$ ?) I was thinking either a new Allora or Di Zhao, or maybe a used Pearl?
Thank you.

Re: Bass Flute Recommendations
While at the NFA convention a couple of years ago, I tried just about every bass flute on display there. Based upon those trials, I later bought a Vento bass flute from Music Factory Direct. In my comparisons, I noted that the Vento appears to be identical in every respect to the DiZhao bass flute but it sells for aabout $1000 less than the DiZhao. I believe they are the same instrument just with different names engraved on them. I have been very happy with my purchase and have had no problems with it. It plays quite well with a very nice full sound.

Re: Bass Flute Recommendations
Know this is a bit late, but I wanted to share some advice.
1--make sure any bass you consider has trill keys. They're not just for trilling.
2--go to Chris Potter's site. She checks out EVERY bass flute at the National Flute Convention every year, and gives her very professional opinion of each.
Like anything, if you're not in a need for one fast, then you have more options. Wait a bit and keep your eyes open for a good used bass. If you're patient, you can "luck" into a really good deal (I did).
I hope the OP will post back how the search has gone, if she found a bass already or is still looking.
